Poor weather for cycling but the Wrinklies ride out
The weather was not ideal for cycling at the weekend and many VC Baracchi riders stayed off the roads to avoid the snow and ice.
For those with the dedication to do so, turbo-training indoors or in the garage was the order of the day.
However, by Tuesday the main roads gave a reliable grip for the Wrinklies to venture out and despite temperatures that were below freezing for part of the time they got in about 40 miles into Suffolk and Norfolk.
Eight riders went on the Tuesday ride from Carlton Colville church at 9am and went as far as Homersfield before turning for home, making a point of stopping at Ellough for refreshments at Posh Pigs.
By that time it was certainly safe to return by the country route though Mutford. Wrinklies rides are on Tuesdays and Fridays, weather permitting, and suit those with time off in the week, including the retired.
(Though this is not a VCB club-based activity, club riders are to be found on all Wrinklies rides.)
