A new club secretary for VCB at AGM
The cyclists of Velo Club Baracchi held their annual meeting on Monday and the club chairman Brian Boxall paid tribute to their efforts in another successful year in which records had been broken.
A decision taken was to form an association between the club and Tandem-Steve’s Cycles of Lowestoft High Street, with a view to mutual support and a new opportunity to develop the club.
In particular new riders are sought and there will be opportunities to help and encourage beginners in cycling.
The club will continue in the Eastern Road Race league to provide opportunities for road racing and there is continuing strong support for time trials, in addition to audax riding and reliability events.
Boxall was re-elected as chairman, Paul Hayward as vice chairman, John Thompson as treasurer, John Swanbury as publicity officer, Paul Dennington as welfare officer and a welcome new volunteer, Francesca Dixon-Grant as club secretary, while Richard Allen will also stay co-opted to the committee.
In addition to its website and Facebook pages the club is now accessible through Tandem-Steve’s Cycles, which may help prospective new riders get in touch.
This Saturday the annual prize presentation evening at the Carlton PH on London Road South will give members and their friends an opportunity to bask in the achievements of this year’s successful riders.
