VCB club run to Framlingham
Nine riders took part in the VC Baracchi club run from the Cotmer Road roundabout to Framlingham on Sunday January 28, which came to around 70 miles.
Starting at the usual 8.30am time they rode out into the south-westerly wind through Stoven and Redisham to Rumburgh and through the Saints to Metfield, Fressingfield, Dennington and Framlingham, returning by a wind-assisted route that included Saxmundham.
Keith Wink, Kate Churchill, Alex He, Paul Reed, Chris Womack, John Swanbury, Paul Killett, George Kerridge and Nicki Hawkes took part, happening to meet Mike Wood of VCB and Terry Power from Halesworth at the Framlingham café.
John Thompson was one of the other VCB riders out on Sunday. He rode via Beccles, Ellingham and Hedenham before turning into lanes to Saxlingham Green, before turning towards Woodton to enjoy the tail wind through Seething.
Thompson called in at Rosie Lee’s tea room at Loddon and had the company of Martin Badham of CC Breckland and another cyclist before riding home through Thurlton and St Olaves, some 57 miles in all.
Velo Club Baracchi’s 100km reliability ride is this Sunday from Oulton Community Centre, finishing in the car park opposite St Marks Church (8.30am for 4.5 hours, 9am for 4 hours and 9.30am for 3.5 hours).
